SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Inline Services-MITG)
Cisco’s Mobile Internet Technology Group (MITG) is looking for experienced software engineer to define, design and build software for Cisco's industry leading mobile gateway Inline Services products.

Mobile communications are in the midst of a significant transition, from both technical and business perspectives. This is creating a huge opportunity for the Mobile Internet Technology Group and they are placing big bets on FY11.
About MITG:
MITG products help service providers build one network for any access including CDMA, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, HSPA, fixed, Femtocell, Wi-Fi, WiMAX and LET. These products also enable operators to migrate their networks to LTE through software and in turn, extend the life of their investments in our platform.
Bangalore Team anchors work items on following products/services that are built on the ASR5K platform – SGSN, LTE (MME & eHRPD), Inline Services (Firewall, NAT, H.323/SIP ALG, P2P, Transport Layer Optimization), Diameter (UMTS & LTE interfaces), IMS, CDMA-Femto, CDMA (PDSN & HA), WIMAX (ASN-Gw), Wi-Fi (PDIF). There is a dedicated Automation focus group working on all the products/services anchored from Bangalore & US.
Senior Software Engineer (Inline Services Team – MITG)
Responsibilities:
• Reviewing requirements, scoping, making key design decisions and maintaining a good quality in coding for all the deliverables of the projects
• Contribute to writing functional and design specifications for those features
• Contribute in design, development and engineering of next generation features
• Making key technical decisions in the development/maintenance of features for the Inline Services products especially for the P2P protocol detection product.
• Integrate and troubleshoot product level as well as system level issues
• Interact with QA, SEs, partners and customers to deal with field deployment issues
• Develop large portions of complex software independently and rapidly with quality
• Mentoring the junior members of the team
• Demonstrate ability to successfully influence win-win cross-functional dynamics
• Resolves conflicts by fostering team communications.
• Provides technical guidance to members

Desired Skills & Experience
Required Skills:• Proven experience in designing, developing, debugging, testing and delivering complex software subsystems
• Knowledge and experience with network programming and network protocols in TCP/IP4/IPv6 stack
• Experience in P2P protocol detections technologies (for eg. port based, signature based, heuristics and behavior based), Deep Packet Inspection technologies, ML based algorithms,.
• Knowledge in developing and maintaining high performance, scalable and distributed-architecture products
• Experience in creating and reviewing designs, specifications, estimates, and code
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting under Linux/Unix environments
• Software Development Life cycle knowledge
• Strong hands-on programming experience using C/C++
• Ability to multitask and prioritize, while effectively managing time
• Ability to quickly ramp up on complex software systems and existing code base
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong communicator, collaborator with good interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work cohesively within the team and across geographically spread teams to drive and deliver results
Desired Skills:
• Experience in updating the P2P protocol detection logic dynamically would be BIG PLUS.
• Overall wireless domain knowledge
• Experience in NAT and Firewall
• Experience in decision tree algorithms
• Excellent presentation skills
• Exposure to Multimedia and Packet Core technologies like GGSN / PDSN / HA / PGW etc
• Demonstrated technical ownership/leadership of large component(s) of a
product/platform
