IT Assistant

REPORTS TO: IT / Network Administrator

DUTY STATION: Islamabad

Job Summary:
Provide assistance to the Administrator in the management and troubleshooting of wireless network and network equipment as well as configuration and installations of servers and clients. Also responsible for maintaining and monitoring of logs and security of the servers and clients.

Key responsibilities
Support, troubleshoot, configure and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, Laptops, desktops, UPS and related hardware and all software. Provide user and application support to management, staff and visiting consultants. Provide regular, secure and tested backup of all MEDA Pakistan data and configuration. Assist in vendor liaison (seeking clarification etc as necessary) on IT related items. Technical Support to IT procurement and deployment Receipt and inspection of all IT equipment Configuration and commissioning of procured equipment and software Help in the planning for IT power infrastructure, UPS integration Complete documentation/inventory/diagrams of deployed hardware, software, networking Scoping LAN/Voice requirements in new offices Documenting requirements (simple office plans etc) Planning Active Directory, Group Policy, IP schema, users/groups/roles deployment Participate in technical evaluation of received bids/proposals Assist in the Pakistan MEDA website maintenance and updating Develop MS Access database for project components. Develop and produce quantitative data reporting, as per management requirement. Ensure accuracy, transparency and reliability of collected and reported data Other duties as assigned

Qualifications – Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree or certificate in computer science or a related field Minimum three year experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of computers, network installations and management, handling of electronic equipment and general trouble-shooting of computer-related problems.
Reliable, punctual (preferably can come to office 10 minutes before the official start of office) responsible and detail oriented Excellent communication, negotiation and personnel skills Ability to work in team setting, taking initiatives and performing multiple tasks Fluent in both English and Urdu languages
